Late vote stands up for people who walk and bike

I'm so pleased to learn that four members of Congress from my state, Virginia, helped shoot down an effort in the House this week to prevent federal aid being used to include sidewalks, bicycle racks, or lighting in New Starts transit projects. So thanks to Reps. Robert Scott, Don Beyer, Barbara Comstock, and Gerald Connolly for voting no on that amendment Tuesday night. I wish I could say my own congressman had helped, but I cannot. There was a bit of drama to the late-night vote, as Margo Pedroso describes on her blog at the Safe Routes to School National Partnership.
